Water lovers will have a wonderful time at the natural waterpark at Caño Hondo. Whilst the waterfalls and installations are artificially constructed, you can walk and climb and discover a lot at Caño Hondo. It’s actually perfect for taking pictures.

Excursion to the tropical rainforest

Whale watching (only from JAN – MAR)

Of course my absolute favorite as you can imagine. Whoever had this smart idea with the bath tub deserves a Design-Oscar for that work. It was very funny to sit inside the tub. It had even a drain at the bottom, but the water was running aside to flow its own way.

Slide down the water

Let’s say, that this wasn’t by far the most difficult thing to do there. Although sliding down in the most waterparks seems to be easy, at Caño Hondo I have had my problems to do that:

It’s in other waterparks quite an easy task and fun to do. But at Caño Hondo it was quite frustrating to use the slide. In comparison with many other waterparks, you are not sliding on a plastic surface, but on natural stone. The grip isn’t the same as in the action tubes where you slide down with a high velocity. Next to that, the incline of the angle was too little and not steep enough. Or maybe I am simply too fat and look for excuses.

When I made it finally down the slide in the third attempt, the camera has had the wrong adjustments and recorded the video in slow motion:

I really didn’t want to attempt it a fourth time and gave up 🙂

Take some amazing pictures

Without the right amount of sunshine, it can be quite fresh up in the hills of Paraíso Caño Hondo. Of course the best photos depend on the daylight. As always, I was not blessed with the weather conditions and had quite a bad luck that day. Unfortunately, the sky was quite grey again and foiled perfect pictures with a blue sky. But I tried my best!
